Optimise your energy efficiency

Energy efficiency Optimising the performance of your organisation

From the perspective of resilience, understanding energy expenses is a real lever for competitiveness, and even a guarantee of a company's long-term future. Indeed, fossil fuel resources are becoming scarce, with the direct effect, in the long term, of an increase in prices. At the same time, through regulations, companies are asked to commit and reduce their energy consumption. Deploying an energy strategy is then a requirement for any organisation.

AD FINE, specialist in ecological transition, offers organisational and operational solutions to deploy this strategy.

Adopting an energy strategy

Why boost energy efficiency ?

Energy is essential to any productive activity. Although consumption costs vary according to the company's activity and the type of energy used (electricity, natural gas, biomass, etc.), this budget item can be optimised by implementing an energy management system.

Improving energy performance contributes to several aspects: reducing final energy consumption, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, lowering energy bills and adapting to climate change. Because it is necessary and urgent to act: limiting global warming, thwarting raw materials shortage, respecting Paris Agreements and reducing the impact of energy price fluctuations are all reasons for a company to define an energy efficiency policy in line with an environmental strategy.

How to implement an energy strategy?

Energy strategy implementation starts with a state of play. The industrial, building or transport energy audit identifies the distribution of consumption and possible ways of improvement. The audit can be completed by relevant targeted studies (compressed air, cold production, pump network, processes, etc.).

Then, the organisation acts on energy management with the implementation of a technical, behavioural and organisational actions. Performance is achieved when:

  • the company optimises its contracts and supply choices (renewable energy, self-consumption of photovoltaic energy, etc.),
  • deploys a measurement plan to monitor significant consumption and follow key performance indicators (KPI),
  • steers its energy performance plan and thus regularly visualises the achievement of the objectives set in relation to a reference situation.

Within the company, energy management can be a matter for all employees. The energy policy provides a framework and sets the objectives of the energy strategy. Energy management system compliant with ISO 50001 is the cornerstone of the energy strategy and energy efficiency in industry and provides a structure for continuous improvement.

What are the benefits for the organisation?

  • Controlling energy budget and production costs. Energy management system makes it possible to assign an energy cost to each product manufactured; this cost can be reflected in the cost price and justified to the consumer.
  • Responding to increasingly stringent European and national regulatory constraints and implementing effective tools to avoid the highly unstable international energy context.
  • Communicate a positive image of its organisation through energy performance management. By voluntarily and actively participating in the ecological transition. The company improves its Corporate Social Responsibility CSR approach and opens up market shares to customers looking for committed companies. There also may be a benefit in terms of employability: more and more young workers, in search of meaning in their professional missions, are turning to companies that carry out concrete actions in favour of the energy and environmental transition.
  • Marking European solidarity: the effort on energy performance reduces the volume of consumption on French soil, and thus allows the transfer of energy flows to European countries in need.

AD FINE’s support

AD FINE offers a complete range of solutions to implement an energy strategy. Strength of AD FINE's support lies in the ethical commitment and complementary skills of its staff, enriching energy understanding with a vision in terms of environmental management, decarbonisation and circularity.

AD FINE's strategic and technical approach leads to operational solutions, which facilitate their implementation and the involvement of all employees in the ecological transition.

Our solutions

Support for the « Eco Energy Tertiary » scheme

Definition of the areas subject to regulation, office consumption calculation, determination of reference situations, support in the construction and deployment of the action plan. AD FINE carries out regular regulatory monitoring, using the tools proposed by Novallia

ISO 50001 Gap analysis

Gap analysis between the existing situation and the requirements of ISO 50001: 2018 within an organisation. Roadmap establishment to estimate the human and budgetary resources needed to move towards an ISO 50001 energy management system.

Internal audit ISO 50001

Audit in preparation for the ISO 50001 certification audit, which will verify the compatibility of the system in place with the requirements of the ISO 50001 standard.

Regulatory energy audit

Energy use and consumption analysis, in order to identify the flows and potential for improving energy efficiency.

AD FINE carries out regulatory audits for Processes (Standard NF EN 16247-3) and Transport (Standard NF EN 16247-4).

Compressed air leakage detection campaign

Diagnosis based on ultrasonic measurements, in order to locate and evaluate compressed air leaks in the network. A report list leak points identified and provide an estimation of leaks flow rate and the equivalence in kWh and €.

Deployment of ISO 50001 energy management system

Detailed analysis of the energy consumption of one or several sites of a company. Through the energy review, AD FINE is able to handle complex multinational organisations with several thousand delivery points. The system deployed, based on the necessary commitment of the management, is adapted to small companies as well as to large groups. Allow 12 to 18 months to implement an effective energy management system from the definition of an energy strategy to the planning, monitoring and implementation of the energy management system.

Targeted study of uses

On a specific theme (e.g. cold production, air treatment, compressed air leaks), carrying out of an in-depth diagnosis, which enables the drawing up of an action plan leading to an improvement in usage.

External energy manager

External energy manager help to implement energy management policy in compliance with or without the ISO 50001 standard: implementation and coordination of actions to optimise energy performance, monitoring of indicators, implementation and management of action plans, etc.

Energy Performance Indicator Measurement System (EPIMS)

Measuring, recording and storing the data required to calculate the Energy Performance Indicators (EPI); communicating the results obtained to the user for monitoring these EPI and detecting any drift.

The implementation of a SMIPE can be carried out as part of an energy audit or as part of the actions of an ISO 50001 energy management system. It thus responds to the identification of measurement needs and ensures their accuracy.

Testimonial

« AD FINE supported ARaymond Fluid Connect in the implementation of an energy monitoring and metering plan. The assessment of the initial situation (energy sources and uses, influencing and static factors, flow mapping) enabled the development of an action plan to improve the metering system in order to achieve our objectives. Implementation of Cactus® metering system allows us to exploit the measurements and guarantee the sustainability and reliability of the measurements. The benefits are of several kinds: financial gain, global view - historisation and control of flows, awareness of energy performance levers. »
